What is a PICV?


A Pressure Independent Balancing and Control Valve (PICV also known as PIBCV) is a type of valve used in HVAC (Heating and Cooling Systems) to regulate the flow of water. Combining the functions of a differential pressure control valve and a balancing valve, it keeps the flow constant regardless of pressure fluctuations in the system. It is an ideal solution to ensure consistent temperature control and optimise energy efficiency in HVAC systems.

Pressure independent balancing and control valves are the ideal solution for modern heating and cooling systems requiring low operating costs, and easy and flexible installation. Valves provide stable and precise temperature control under all working conditions due to the integrated differential pressure controller that maintains a constant differential pressure over the control part. Fully open valves limit maximum flow and ensure hydronic balancing.
